Our Brighton-based floor sanding team commenced work immediately after assessing the condition of the maple hardwood floors. Initially, they focused on removing any old woodwork that could potentially hinder the restoration process.
Once this task was completed, we employed our four-stage sanding process – a proven technique designed by us based on our extensive experience with various types of wooden floors ranging from parquet to pine and beyond.
- Involves rough-sanding using coarse-grit abrasives.
- Entails medium-sanding where finer grits are used.
- Consists of fine-sanding which ensures smoothness.
- Includes buffing or polishing to create an even surface ready for finishing touches.
This meticulous process allowed us not only to remove surface imperfections but also prepare the floorboards optimally for subsequent treatments like staining and sealing.
To enhance their natural warmth and character further, we applied Becker Acroma lacquer – one among many high-grade professional lacquers including Bonakemi, Loba & Junkers available at our disposal – known specifically for its ability to enrich wood tones without altering their inherent beauty.
